Yes and no: in order to dim a fluorescent light, your fixture, bulbs, and dimmer must be of a special type. Traditional dimming lights, designed for older, incandescent bulbs, will usually fail or burn out the light bulb if a fluorescent is placed in them. To upgrade, contact a licensed electrician.
